Summary:l

This was a repeat of the previous season's Lancashire Cup Final that Wigan had won 9-3 at Swinton. This time the match was played at Warrington with Wigan getting off to a great start with an early try from Gordon Ratcliffe making it 3-0 but he was lucky not to concede a try after his poor error was wasted with Belle Vue knocking on. Thomas reduced the lead to 3-2 with a penalty goal but Ted Ward kicked one for Wigan which left the score at 5-2 half time. Wigan had the wind second half but fell behind when an attempted kick from Tommy Bradshaw was charged down and Flanagan scored, with Thomas converting, to put Belle Vue into a 7-5 lead. Wigan began to look a well beaten side but managed to claw level with a second penalty from Ward with eight minutes to go. A replay seemed a fair outcome but Wigan instead snatched the trophy with Brian Nordgren crashing over in the right corner to seal a 10-7 success and Wigan's ninth Lancashire Cup triumph.
