Summary:l

Oldham had started the season well enough to be early season league leaders, so this was a stern test for Wigan who had won every match in the season so far. Wigan had to play without Gordon Ratcliffe, Ted Ward, Tommy Bradshaw, Ken Gee and Joe Egan who were all playing in the First Test between Great Britain and New Zealand at Headingley, which Britain won narrowly 11-10. Those absences didn't stop Wigan from maintaining their 100% start in the season.
