Summary:l

This was the first ever Lancashire Cup Final and it was a pretty poor spectacle in truth. Wigan only got going in the last 15 minutes when Leigh were reduced to 12 men due to an injury to Silcock. That momentum helped provide Wigan wit the perfect opportunity to win by Jim Leytham's penalty goal shot late in the game, hit the post and rebounded outwards. With no score, the match would go to replay.
