Summary:l

Broughton scored the first try but it was disallowed because the "scorer" had pushed the Wigan Full Back in the back. Just before half time Wigan claimed the first try. It was described as "lucky" for Bill Yates after he just plonked down a ball that had rebounded to him from a Broughton player. E.Webster converted to put Wigan into a 5-0 lead. In the second half Jimmy Walkden kicked a drop goal to make it 9-0 to Wigan and that proved enough for the win.
