Summary:l

A Boxing Day of poor weather spoiled this game and went much against Wigan's style of play. Saints had tries for both Jimmy Flanagan and Jack Manchester disallowed in the first half and thus it was only a penalty goal apiece that was scored for 2-2 at the break. In the second half both sides scored two tries each but it was an extra conversion that gave Wigan the narrow 10-8 victory. Broughton, Wakefield and Hunslet below Wigan all failed to win on the same afternoon, so Wigan took a strangle hold on second place.
