Summary:l

Wigan gave a debut to New Zealand test star Lance Todd who they had signed following their inaugural tour of England. Little did they know years later that his name would become synonymous with the Man of the Match of the Challenge Cup Final. The debut match for him couldn't be tougher against an Oldham side who led the table with an unbeaten record in 24 matches. Although Todd set up a try for Walter Cheetham, Wigan still fell to defeat.
