Summary:l

Frost in Lancashire had seen Wigan's last two scheduled matches postponed but they got a break here because St Helens had played on Christmas Day against St Helens Recreation. So Wigan had the fresher players and that perhaps showed because they slowly ground down Saints. It was only 3-0 at half time with Jim Sullivan claiming a try. Then after half time George Bennett, Alf Ellaby and Jack Morley tries were added two by a solo goal from Sullivan. 10,000 attended.
