Summary:l

St Helens had beaten Wigan in the Challenge Cup Semi Finals in April 1930 whilst also later inflicting Wigan's only defeat of the season at Central Park on Good Friday to put a fatal hammer blow into Wigan's play off chances, so Lancashire Cup revenge must have been sweet here. They got a bit of luck though did Wigan. It was 7-7 late in the first half when Saints' Bill Mercer limped off the field with a twisted knee. Wigan took advantage of the man advantage to romp to a 24-7 win in the end. New signing Gwynne Davies impressed at centre on a good day for Wigan. 16,500 attended.
