Summary:l |
I don't know if the fixture planners were being clever or not, but Wigan's 1925-1926 season began where the 1924-1925 season had ended, at Hull KR. Rovers had beaten Wigan in the play off semi finals before going on to beat Swinton in the play off final to become Champions. So it couldn't have been a tougher start for Wigan and when they were 14-5 down things looked very ominous for them. But Rovers had lost a player to injury and this contributed to Wigan's late rally that saw tries from Syd Jerram, Johnny Ring and Attie van Heerden earn them a draw. An off day on goal kicking from Jim Sullivan though, perhaps cost them the win? |
