Summary:l

From one extreme to the other. After hammering Halifax 64-0 three days previous, Wigan backed it up with a score-less draw away at Salford on a heavy pitch. Wigan have only played in one other 0-0 draw since this game which was against Castleford at Central Park in January 1974. The dropped point meant Hull had now drawn level with Wigan at the top of the table.
