Wigan battled back from trailing 5-0 early to be level 5-5 at half time. Wigan though were full of mistakes and one such error was punished by Swinton's Evans' to turn the game. Report in the Guardian notes Wigan's "new strapping youth" Jim Sullivan "should become a great player when he becomes better acquainted with the Northern Union Rules".
