Abandonment:l The game was halted in the 57th Minute when a substantial section of the St Helens support  ran on the field to protest at the referee.
The crowd did not settle back down and he was forced to abandoned the match. The result was later ordered to stand

Such was the openness of "Guest Players" during the War, Wigan's 12. Jack Cayzer had played for St Helens in the previous days derby.
