Summary:

Wigan had already wrapped up the league title and were looking to win a 20th game in a row here against second placed Saints. They got off to the perfect start with a Martin Offiah try in the 4th Minute for a 6-0 lead. Then on 18 minutes, good work from Billy McGinty got Shaun Edwards over on the right, That made it 10-0, a score that held for the next 40 minutes of game time until Gene Miles squeezed over for a try in the 58th Minute. That made it 14-0 lead before Saints found a try from Paul Bishop in the 68th minute to make Wigan sweat a little. Saints couldn't score again though and Wigan controlled the match with a late penalty added by Frano Botica.
