Summary:l

In a season of very inconsistent form so far, Wigan went to third in the table Widnes and produced one of their performances of the season in front of the Sky Sports camera. This was despite the fact Andy Gregory was sent off in the 30th Minute for dissent. Wigan led 8-4 at half time after Denis Betts had scored in the first half and pushed on to a 20-4 lead after tries from David Myers and Shaun Edwards. Widnes got back to 20-14 after tries from Paul Hulme and Steve Wynne but Botica edged Wigan to victory with first a drop goal and then a penalty goal.
