Summary:l

Saints had gone back level at the top with Wigan by beating bottom of the table Hull KR 34-14 at Knowsley Road on the Friday Night but Wigan responded with an absolute shellacking of relegation threatened Salford on the Sunday Afternoon. It was well over by half time when Wigan led 38-0 and it turned into a bit of a personal contest between Martin Offiah and Shaun Edwards over who could score most of the tries. Offiah won that battle but the biggest result was the massive increase in Wigan's points difference.
