Summary:

Wigan had sweated through a Challenge Cup tie at The Boulevard earlier in 1994 but had a much easier ride in this Regal Trophy Third Round tie. This was despite Denis Betts being sent off in the 59th Minute for a high shot. It was a slow burner for Wigan with only penalty goals in the opening half hour. But tries from Shaun Edwards and Martin Offiah on 30 and 33 minutes quickly took Wigan 16-4 ahead. Another try for Offiah and one for Andy Farrell took Wigan through with Frano Botica kicking four penalty goals on top of his five conversions.
