Summary:

With John Player commitments, Wigan hadn't played a league game for over a month and that had seen them drop back into the mid table. Upon their return here, they ended up failing to win for the first time in any competition since 29th September. Two Ellery Hanley tries had helped them into a 12-6 half time lead but Neil James' effort saw the scores levelled at 12-12 and Halifax withstood Wigan's late onslaught to ensure the points were shared.
