Technically this was the last match of the season but poor weather in the winter would see many teams playing games in hand beyond this final game for a further week - Wigan would make up the Boxing Day game against St Helens the following Sunday. Wigan perhaps needed just one win now to ease relegation fears but although they lost to Featherstone, rivals didn't take advantage. |
