Summary:l

Saints were gunning for the league title and had been unbeaten for 13 matches heading into this derby. They also haven't lost at Knowsley Road all season. Saints had led 11-10 at the break despite being out scored two tries to one. Eddie Cunningham had scored for them whilst Wigan's tries came from Green Vigo, a blinder from 75 metres, and Terry Hollingsworth. The game moved on into a 17-17 dead locked with 15 minutes to go and it looked like that would hold until David Regan snatched the win for Wigan in the second minute of added time!! The fact it put a dent in Saints title hopes made it a sweet derby victory for the supporters.
