Summary: |
This second round Players Trophy tie was played three months after the first round and in the interim Wigan's form had nose dived. Despite the experience of Colin Tyrer appearing for the first time this season, Wigan found themselves 14-2 and although they rallied second half it proved too little, too late. Three players were sent off during the game. Colin Clarke for Wigan and two Keighley players (Wilmot and Burke) all dismissed after half time. |
Half Time: | Wigan 2 Keighley 14 |

Match Kicked Off Earlier to accommodate daylight. Use of Floodlights was banned by government order from 15th November 1973 due to rationing forced by an oil embargo forced in the Middle East. |
