Wigan ended the regular season with a second spanking of Salford within 8 days. This time Billy Boston scored 7 tries which equalled the club record for most tries in a match that had been achieved five occasions previously by Johnny Ring (three times), Gordon Ratcliffe and Boston himself in 1955.
