Summary:l

An early William Jolley penalty goal was quickly equalised by Hull but, just before half time, Wigan got 5-2 up with a try from Syd Jerram. Early in the second half, Ernie Shaw had to leave the field for 15 minutes injury treatment and Hull took advantage to bring the score back to 7-5 with a try from Stone. But once Shaw had returned, Wigan rallied to find a match clinching try from Vince Smith that Jolley converted for 12-5. Wigan had made it into their second Challenge Cup Final.
