Summary:l |
Wigan had "dispensed of the services" of Charlie Wilding, John Timoney, Percy Jago and Pearsome-Newsome Knowles following the end of the league season which perhaps highlighted that the importance of this new inaugural Challenge Cup competition had not quite took hold. The Cup competition brought together the Lancashire and Yorkshire leagues as well as a huge amount of junior clubs. This First Round also had 12 teams on a bye straight through to Round 2. This match against Radcliffe was decided by a Joe Winstanley penalty goal in the first half. |
