Summary:l

On the afternoon in which the Challenge Cup Semi Finals were taking place, Wigan were playing fourth placed Leigh at Central Park. As the league table stood this would be a play off preview but although a good contest, this proved to be Leigh's third defeat in a row with the chasing pack having games in hand on them.

Warrington dropped back a game after the Rugby League Management Committee decided, in a meeting on Wednesday April 16th, that their away fixture at Liverpool Stanley would have to be replayed. During the bad weather earlier in the season the clubs had played both fixtures at Wilderspool. However, because of Warrington's position in the play offs it was decided that this was an unfair advantage.
