Summary:l

Weather was heavily delaying this opening Challenge Cup Round, not helped by the ties being played over two legs. It looked like a tough gig for Wigan here when they lost Martin Ryan early on to a groin injury. They soldiered on with twelve men but only had a two point lead at half time. Despite the disadvantage of a man less though, Wigan kicked on second half to take a healthy lead to Post Office Road for the return leg.

Note:l Match Previously postponed on Saturday 8th February 1947 due to Frozen Pitch at Central Park
