Classic Match: 1983 John Player Trophy Final.

This was perhaps the start of the long period of success that was to follow for Wigan. Just three years after relegation to the Old Divison 2, this match announced our return to the top with a John Player (Regal) Trophy Final victory over Leeds. Not the best of matches but a key moment in Wigan's history.

New Wigan Assistant coach Andrew Farrar revealed that he wouldn't have come back to England from Australia for any other club other than Wigan.

No scoring details, but just to let you know that the Under 21s followed up Saturday's 88-0 friendly victory over Cambridge University with a 56-20 mauling of Warrington in another friendly at Wilderspool on Wednesday Night.

The Under 21s next play at Leigh a week on Saturday in a curtain raiser to the home sides super league match with Huddersfield. Kick Off 3:30pm.

The worlds worst kept secret will be confirmed on Wednesday as Wigan will be holding a press conference at the JJB Stadium to officially introduce Andrew Farrar.

Farrar, who played for Wigan during the 1992-93 season, has joined the Warriors Coaching Staff to help Denis Betts.

Davico Injury Confirmed

Luke Davico is set to miss most of the season after tearing a pectoral muscle in the shoulder. Davico picked up the injury during the Warriors pre-season friendly against the Salford Reds.
