Summary:l
This match had been postponed earlier in the
season on November 18th because Wigan were playing in the Lancashire Cup
Semi Finals. It was a marvellous comeback for Wigan who came back to win
despite losing Jim Leytham to injury and trailing 6-0 to Salford who had
scored tries either side of half time. With 14th men Wigan were well under
the pump but a try from Harry Lowe got Wigan back to 6-3. Then miraculously
they took the lead when Salfords Cochrane offloaded a pass with no one was
there to take it and Tom Whittaker scored to which Mason converted for 8-6.
Salford tried to hit back late on but somehow Wigan managed to hang on.
