Wigan set a new record victory with this 73-5 win over a
Runcorn side that hadn't won again match in the season so far. The result
would remain Wigan's highest victory until they beat Flimby & Fothergill in
the Challenge Cup during 1924/25. In terms of the league though, this would
remain the record league victory for the next 81 years until they beat
Paris 76-8 at Central Park in May 1996.
