Summary:l

Wigan had dominated the early part of this Lancashire Cup Final but never scored and Oldham grew in confidence from that. Then just before half time an error by Wigan allowed V.Farnsworth to score a try for Oldham that was easily converted by Wood for 5-0. That proved to be that with Wigan faltering away to a miserable defeat that belittled their place at the top of the league table. 16,000 attended the final which was played at Broughton's new "The Cliff" ground which later went on to become Manchester United's training ground between 1933 and 1999.
