Summary:l
Twice in a row champions Huddersfield had been continuing
to ease their way through their league campaign so far, so this spanking
handed to them by Wigan at Central Park was quite a shock. Wigan brought in
George Owens to debut at Stand Off after playing several games for the "A"
team and it worked brilliantly. It was a shock from the start for the
visitors with a 10-0 lead being built by Wigan in as many minutes. That lead
had been doubled to 20-0 by half time and in the end the one try
Huddersfield managed was just mere consolation.
