Summary:l
This extra midweek came commenced a tough run
of four games in six days for Wigan to end the regular season. Their play
off place was secure anyway but finishing top of the table was still to be
decided and a poor run of form could see them lose a home play off
advantage. Wigan would have gone top of the table with a victory here but in
the end perhaps were grateful for a draw. Salford had built an 8-0 lead by
half time after tries from Rees and Cook and a goal from Bevan. That lead
became 10-2 into the second half before Wigan began a fight back which made
it 10-10 after tries from Charlie Seeling and Bert Jenkins. Then a penalty
goal from Johnny Thomas put Wigan 12-10 ahead but Salford found a penalty to
level late on.
