Summary:l

An excellent victory for Wigan considering they were reduced to 12 men early in the contest after James Shallcross suffered a broken rib. Wigan went up 2-0 with a penalty goal from Jim Leytham then a converted try from Bert Jenkins made it 7-0. In the second half Lance Todd and Leytham added unconverted tries, but Runcorn couldn't even find a score when Wigan fell down to 11 men after Joe Miller left the field injured. Wigan for some reason had the following weekend with no game to play and went second in the table on the Saturday after Wakefield lost 15-11 at home to Leeds.
