Wigan's 100% record was on the line against current champions Oldham here and the champions gave Wigan a lesson. They had a 6-0 lead by half time and that was against the wind advantage. Wigan rallied but their only points would come from a Johnny Thomas penalty goal. Oldham won easy 16-2 in the end.
