Summary:l
Wigan began the new 1910-1911 season at the
same ground they had lost the previous seasons championship final. They made
light work of beating Broughton though despite the absences of Jim Sharrock,
Bert Jenkins, Jim Leytham, Johnny Thomas and Dick Ramsdale still travelling
home by boat from the inaugural Northern Union "Colonial Tour" to Australia
and New Zealand. Wigan had built up a 10-0 lead in the first ten minutes
here and never looked like letting that slip.
