Summary:l

A big game at the top of the table between 3rd Placed Wigan and the side immediately below them Warrington. Such was the anticipation, a great crowd surged down from Wigan and a crush to get into Wilderspool led to gates collapsing just before kick off. Wigan got off to a shocking start with them conceding first a penalty goal to Fish and then he'd scored an unconverted try for a 5-0 lead in as many minutes. Wigan fought back but Warrington would increased their lead to 8-0 before half time with a try from Shugars. Wigan dominated after the break and a couple of scores from Joe Miller reduced the lead to 8-6 but failed kicks proved costly. The fact that "Wigan would probably won had there been another five minutes play" was no consolation, Wigan had fallen to their first defeat since 23rd October.
