Summary:l

Frozen off on the Saturday, this cup quarter final was delayed until the midweek at Fartown. "A Great Struggle" headlined one newspaper. Huddersfield took a 2-0 lead from an obstruction penalty before pressing on for another score. A "smashing tackle" from Jim Sullivan stopped them from scoring further before Sullivan kicked a offside penalty for 2-2 at half time. Wigan quickly took the lead after the restart with a try from Hector Gee. Huddersfield came back again with a penalty goal making it 5-4 before they went 7-5 ahead with a unconverted try by Johnson. Wigan had to sweat on more Huddersfield pressure for long periods until Eddie Holder snatched victory from the jaws of defeat with a try score inches from the corner flag in the 78th Minute. That put Wigan 8-7 ahead, but the missed conversion didn't matter. Time soon blew after the kick off re-start. The narrowest of escapes for Wigan.
