Summary:l

Wigan returned to the top of the table with this unspectacular victory at St Helens Recreation after Swinton lost away at Liverpool Stanley. Although Wigan raced into an early 5-0 lead following a Jack Morley 75 yard intercept try, converted by Sullivan, Recs hit back with tries from Laithwaite and Atherton, one converted by Barnes, to leave 8-5. That was before half time and Sullivan reduced that lead to 8-7 with a penalty goal soon after the restart. It was tense all the way to the finish but Gordon Innes' try in the 70th Minute was enough to nick Wigan a tight win.
