Summary:l

A fluke of the fixture list provided a massive Easter Saturday in the "Top 4" play off race. On top of this clash at Parkside between Fourth Placed Hunslet and Fifth Placed Wigan, over in York the Second Placed were hosting Third Placed Leeds. Obviously a big day, especially for Wigan. Defeat to Hunslet added to a win for Leeds would put them two wins behind Hunslet with just four games to play after this and also Hunslet held a game in hand. That would be tough to overcome, so it was imperative that Wigan found the win and they did. Hunslet held a 12-10 lead at one point but Wigan finished strongly for a huge victory that put them inside the "Top 4" for the first time in the season. Leeds won the clash at York by 10 points to 8. Halifax, who also held a game in hand over Wigan, beat Oldham 30-3 at home to ensure they still had a say in the hunt. Wigan's points advantage was strong though.
