Jim Sullivan was off preparing for the England
v Australia 1st Test match that was coming up on the following Saturday.
This was no excuse for Wigan because Swinton had two call ups absent. The
only score in the first half was a Penalty Goal for Swinton's Scott. After
Half Time, Gordon Innes levelled the scores with a penalty goal of his own
for 2-2. He then gave Wigan a lead by scoring a try but his missed
conversion left the score at just 5-2. Didn't matter because Joe Wilson
scored later and Innes converted this time before kicking a late penalty
goal to round off the win.
