"A wonderful match" said one newspaper as Warrington
knocked Wigan out of the Challenge Cup, like they had done earlier in the
season in the Lancashire Cup. The first half saw the two sides exchange two
penalty goals each for a 4-4 half time score. That score remained until the
70th Minute when Jack Morley's try put Wigan 7-4 up but Jim Sullivan failed
to convert and that would ultimately prove costly. Davies scored for
Warrington in the 75th Minute and Holding's conversion from the touchline
put them 9-7 ahead and won them the match. |
