All Wigan had to play for now in this season was to
overhaul Wigan Highfield in the league table. That was a sad indictment of
how this season had gone for them that their lesser neighbours were above
them in the table. Highfield had already finished their season but if Wigan
won their remaining three games they would have at least finish above them.
They got that three game run off to a good start here.
