Another afternoon of matches spoiled by heavy rain, this
match actually being abandoned ten minutes early. The result stood however.
Tries from Tommy Parker and Johnny Ring had put Wigan 8-0 ahead before
Broughton had fought back to level up at 8 all. Wigan though had got to 18-8
before the half time break. The pitch was waterlogged for most of the second
half, but the referee waited until their was a clear lead before calling an
early halt to proceedings.
