Summary:l

The blow of Johnny Ring being absent injury was not one that Wigan could overcome. They crashed out of the cup at Leeds in Round 2 for the second season in a row. Overall, it was the third loss to Leeds in this season. Jim Sullivan had given Wigan a 2-0 lead with a penalty but Leeds responded to lead 10-2. A George Owens' try late in the first half reduced that lead to 10-7 before half time. Leeds took control with the wind advantage in the second half and stretched ahead, Jim Sullivan's second half try for Wigan only being a consolation. 35,300 attended.
