This Lancashire Cup Final was due to be played on Saturday 21st November with a 2:45 Kick Off but a mixture of frost and fog had seen it postponed. So this re-arrangement took place on a midweek at Broughton Ranger's "The Cliff" ground. "Swinton play like demons to win cup" was how one newspaper described this match. They had led 5-0 at half time but a try from Johnny Ring early second half soon had the scores level. It was now looking likely that Wigan would kick on but it didn't happen. Swinton actually built up a 15-5 lead before Johnny Ring added two further tries to complete a hat-trick in vain. Four minutes remained with the score at 15-11 and Swinton hung on to win their first Lancashire Cup.
