Summary:l

Wigan did their job in their quest to complete a league and cup double, but the press had an air of disappointment about the two semi finals with both Wigan and Batley winning easily and attendances being disappointing also. Leigh had competed well early with Wigan only having a 2-0 lead after quarter of an hour. An interception try by Attie van Heerden really killed Leigh off, who had been the better side before them. It "seemed to upset them" with Percy Coldrick and Van Heerden again helping Wigan build an 11-0 half time lead. Leigh's "collapse" second half "came as a great surprise" but Wigan were into the final.
