Well Hull KR had pipped Wigan to a play off spot right at the death of the last season and subsequently went on to win the title, so revenge was a little bit on the cards here. Rovers though had several reserve players in their team and although they competed well first half, they were eventually ground down. Clark scored a try from Rovers either side of tries from Johnny Ring and Attie van Heerden that left Wigan one point ahead at the break. Those three then all scored again in the second half but four tries to two was evenly reflected in the final scoreline.
