Johnny Ring 3
Johnny Ring gave Wigan the lead but Leigh responded with
a try from Darwell. Ring then scored two more tries but another Leigh try
for Thomas, that was converted by Clarkson, meant Wigan's lead was just 9-8
at half time despite scoring the extra try. After the break Leigh edged
ahead 10-9 with a penalty but Jim Sullivan missed a late penalty for himself
to retake the lead. In the end Johnson scored another try for Leigh to
condemn Wigan to their first defeat of the campaign.
