Summary:
This game at relegation threatened Featherstone kicked off at 6:15pm, due to
Live Sky Coverage, so Wigan could start knowing the afternoon's other
results. The news was good. Second Placed St Helens had lost 30-18 away at
Warrington meaning Wigan were two points clear top with two games in hand
even before this game at Post Office Road started. Wigan produced a
thoroughly professional job with tries from Frano Botica, Martin Offiah,
David Myers and Kelvin Skerrett helped Wigan to a 22-3 half time lead and
Dean Bell's try after half time took Wigan out to 26-3. Featherstone did
score 10 points themselves at the back end of the game but Shaun Edward's
try wrapped up a good effort. Wigan now only needed one league point from
three league matches to clinch the title.
