Summary:l

It was looking easy for Wigan when they built up a 24-4 lead against Halifax but they started to sweat when Fax got the score back to 24-14. Shaun Edwards' second try settled matters though and Wigan had the bonus of going top of the table with Saints having lost for the third time in eight days, this time away at Hull. Their title bid was crumbling rapidly after their cup exit to Wigan the weekend before.
