Summary:l

Salford had beaten Wigan twice at The Willows in the previous season and looked favourites again when they had built up a 12-0 lead inside the first ten minutes. Wigan though settled and got back to 12-8 before half time. They then pushed on to lead 20-12 but a 72nd Minute try from John Gilfillan had Wigan sweating again. Denis Betts try settled matters.
